Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Compensation, Benefits & Pension Specialist on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a client-focused, analytical, and resilient HR professional to advance their career. The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert in the execution and compliance of compensation, benefits, and pension (CBP) practices. You'll be at the heart of shaping impactful employee experiences while driving operational excellence.

This position is a remote opportunity and can be based across Western Canada.

What you’ll do:

  • Deliver compensation, benefits, and pension programs in compliance with policies, legislation, and collective agreements. 

  • Analyze data and trends to identify gaps and recommend improvements to total rewards programs and processes. This will include supporting audits and reporting.

  • Provide guidance and recommendations on complex or escalated compensation, benefits, and pension matters

  • Lead root cause analysis and implement sustainable solutions  in partnership with stakeholders to improve outcomes and evolve practices.

  • Evaluate HRIS configuration, data flows, and eligibility rules to ensure alignment with policy and practice.

  • Mentor junior team members, through knowledge sharing, coaching, and contributing to consistent practices.

Who you’ll work with:
You will report to the Manager, Compensation, Benefits & Pension on a team that values collaboration, community, and support. Specialists on this team are each responsible for a portfolio of stakeholders but work together to provide excellent service to the Co-operative Retailing System (CRS). You will have the opportunity to work with professionals across our People & Culture team and will support roles in a variety of industries.

Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Human Resources and:

  • Have 3-6 years of experience in compensation, benefits, or pension.

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration, preferably majoring in HR (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).

  • Hold a CPHR, CCP or CEBS designation (considered an asset).
