The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Content and Digital Marketing Specialist to join our team on an 18-month maternity leave contract, someone who’s excited to shape how our brand shows up in the world. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, this role plays a pivotal part in driving content creation, growing our digital presence, and helping more people find kind, timely and quality mental health care when they need it. 


You’re a strategic storyteller, a strong writer and a digital-first thinker who understands real human journeys, not just funnels. You believe great content can build trust, inform, inspire and convert. From our website and SEO/GEO to SEM, paid social, and programmatic media, you’ll lead the evolution of our owned and paid channels, bringing our brand to life in empathetic ways, engaging, and designed to drive awareness, meaningful impact and growth.


This role is ideal for a builder with deep curiosity and a passion for testing and learning. With an agile approach to content creation and a pulse on evolving consumer needs, cultural conversations, and emerging technologies, you’ll collaborate across teams as a strategic partner. You’ll build scalable content systems and innovative campaigns that strengthen our brand, amplify our mission and help make mental health care more accessible.


What You’ll Be Doing

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, your primary responsibilities will include:

Content Marketing & Storytelling

  • Write and develop compelling, SEO/GEO-informed content for the website, blog, referral sites, and press releases to drive traffic, inspire engagement, and highlight Lavender’s thought leadership.
  • Research topics, collaborate with subject matter experts and craft stories that translate complex mental health topics into clear, compassionate, and accessible messaging. 
  • Establish and maintain content calendar,  workflows, standards, and best practices for content creation, distribution, maintenance, and measurement.
  • Lead the development of a technical SEO and GEO roadmap that strengthens Lavender’s organic search performance and drives long-term growth.
  • Use AI tools strategically to accelerate research, outlines, drafts, content optimization and building original and human content.

Website Management, SEO & GEO

  • Manage website updates, maintenance, and improvements, develop new web content and landing pages to ensure strong performance, usability, and searchability. and
  • SEO and GEO data-driven approach to content optimization and performance tracking. Conduct keyword research, implement optimization tactics to improve digital performance and lead quality.,
  • Develop interactive content from quizzes, lead generation, to educational content to collect customer insights and drive conversion. 
  • Monitor site performance, leverage AI-powered tools to identify friction points, and recommend improvements to improve site speed, UX, conversion paths and content discoverability.
  • Comfortable working with APIs, webhooks, and automation platforms to connect and scale GTM systems.

Performance Marketing 

  • Plan, launch, and manage paid campaigns across SEM, paid social, and programmatic channels to achieve maximum ROI using a data-informed analysis.
  • Develop compelling ad creative and messaging aligned with user intent and mental health best practices.
  • Hands-on design, messaging, execution, and optimization of awareness and demand gen campaigns, including trafficking, quality control, brand safety, launching, reporting, and performance analysis.
  • Provide actionable insights and data-informed recommendations in alignment with growth objectives.
  • Leverage AI and automation tools for bidding, creative, targeting, landing pages, modelling, LTV, lead scoring, and budget optimization to drive top performance.
  • Stay updated on digital marketing and search trends, algorithm changes, and industry best practices to maintain competitive campaign performance.

Cross-Team Collaboration & Culture

  • Serve as a Lavender ambassador, embodying our values and fostering collaboration across teams and partners.
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships that support alignment, creativity, and a shared commitment to growth.
  • Participate actively in team meetings, strategic discussions, and cross-functional initiatives to gain insight into the business, the market, and evolving opportunities.
  • Contribute to an inclusive and supportive team culture by sharing feedback, exchanging ideas, and helping elevate the overall marketing function.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in content marketing, website management and performance marketing. 
  • Exceptional storyteller with a passion for writing engaging, impactful content and an ability to balance empathy and performance.
  • Strong understanding of SEO and GEO/AIO principles, digital strategy, and content optimization.
  • Deep understanding of brand storytelling, demand gen, and GTM personalization across verticals.
  • Expertise in full funnel performance marketing channels, including SEM, paid social, programmatic and review sites.
  • Skilled in using AI copilots and agents to personalize messaging and surface insights from marketing data.
  • Highly collaborative, creative, and proactive with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Deeply committed to creating thoughtful, positive experiences for clients and end users.
  • Curious with a drive to solve the right problems and agility in learning new ways of thinking.
  • Self-starter with an outcome-oriented mindset, and a focus on high attention to detail and quality. 
  • Experience in healthcare or another highly regulated industry is an asset.
