Developmental Editor

We're looking for a full-time Developmental Editor to join our growing editorial team.

You'll help make our digital content clearer, stronger, and more effective as we scale. 

This is not a grammar-only or line-editing role. You’ll be working at the developmental level—strengthening arguments, improving structure and logic, spotting weak or AI-generated content issues, and helping writers produce high-quality work across formats and niches.

Many of our writers are subject-matter experts who are still developing as writers. Your role will be critical in helping them grow while making sure every piece we publish meets our editorial standards. 

 What You’ll Do

• Perform developmental editing on digital content—improving structure, flow, clarity, logic, and engagement. 
• Edit a wide range of content types, including: Reddit posts and campaigns Video scripts Blog articles for multiple blogs, publications, and distribution platforms 
• Review content for accuracy, logical arguments, and strength of ideas, not just surface-level issues. 
• Spot AI-related quality issues that matter, such as weak arguments, shallow research, generic phrasing, or lack of expert insight. 
• Decide when content can be improved through edits vs. when it should be sent back to the writer for revision. 
• Provide thoughtful, constructive feedback that helps writers improve—not just fix the current piece. 
• Mentor and support newer writers, helping them develop stronger writing and editorial instincts over time. 
• Apply strong editorial principles for digital content, ensuring consistency, clarity, and audience alignment.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with editorial rewriting and optimization, including: Improving clarity and conciseness 
• Updating content based on client feedback 
• Aligning content with brand voice and positioning 
• Experience creating editorial guidelines, playbooks, or SOPs. 
• Background working with publishers, agencies, or organizations that scale content while maintaining quality.
