As a Cross-Trained Emergency Medical Responder/Firefighter, you are a key member of the emergency response team, delivering lifesaving medical care and fire rescue services under the direction of the ERT Captain. This role combines hands-on emergency response with proactive responsibilities such as training, mentoring, equipment maintenance, and compliance with safety protocols. You’ll participate in drills, inspections, and continuing education, assist with onboarding new team members, and ensure readiness of all apparatus and facilities. With a focus on professionalism, hazard awareness, and teamwork, you’ll execute tactical assignments safely and efficiently while representing International SOS and the client with integrity.
As a Cross-Trained Emergency Medical Responder/Firefighter you'll step into a role where your skills save lives and protect communities—combining emergency medical care with fire and rescue expertise in a fast-paced environment:
Must-haves (minimum requirements):
• Work experience as a EMR/Firefighter
• NFPA 1001, NFPA 1002, NFPA 472, NFPA 1006
• Exceptional collaboration with other groups and the ability to work under pressure
• Current registration with Alberta College of Paramedics
• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
• Alignment with our values of expertise,passion,respect and care
Preference for:
• Experience in an industrial setting
• A high level of knowledge and the ability to interpret relevant medical and operational guidelines, protocols, policies and procedures
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
• Collaborate with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
• Hold others accountable, and expect others to do the same
