Position Summary:
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) acts as a strategic partner to the business, providing HR leadership and support. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to all levels of management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. This is a part-time role (20 hours per week).
Duties & Responsibilities to include (but not limited to):
- Conducts regular meetings with respective business unit management teams
- Consults with all levels of management, providing HR guidance when appropriate
- Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues; conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Provides performance management guidance and support to all levels of management (e.g., coaching, career development, disciplinary actions)
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
- Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation, has general knowledge of compensation and benefits, as the role will need to provide benefits-related support
- Drafts employment agreements for new hires, promotions, and transfers
- Assists international employees with immigration processes
- Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures and workforce planning
- Identifies training needs for business units and individual coaching needs
- Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success; follows up to ensure training objectives are met
- Owns full employee lifecycle, including recruitment and onboarding for the business unit to offboarding and exit interviews
- Guide management with support needed for effective annual performance management cycle
- Implement information security practices consistent with the Information Security Management System (ISMS) within recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
Knowledge Requirements:
- Excellent interpersonal, influencing and communications skills with all levels of the organization
- Detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated and resourceful
- Strong leadership, coaching and facilitation skills
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, and policies
- Understanding of the company’s organization structure, jobs, qualifications, and compensation practices
- Proficient with Office 365, HRIS systems, preferably UKG or related software
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including recruitment, compensation practices, performance management etc.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years progressive HR Generalist or Business Partner experience supporting functional groups
- Experience resolving complex employee relations issues
- Experience recruiting highly technical roles, note familiarity with campus recruitment and employer branding as a plus
- Global HR experience would be an asset. Preference to Canada and USA
- Some travel required
Education:
- A bachelor’s degree in the area of HR and/or Business preferred; an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered
