In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring our employment practices adhere to all federal, state, and local laws within the Californian operations. Your contributions will be critical in fostering a culture of integrity and transparency as you coordinate compliance initiatives, conduct audits, and support policy development. Accountabilities
- Monitor compliance with employment laws and regulations across California.
- Conduct audits of HR files and onboarding documentation to ensure compliance.
- Support the development and implementation of HR policies and compliance programs.
- Maintain necessary employee records and reports per jurisdictional requirements.
- Collaborate with HR and Legal teams on compliance inquiries and investigations.
- Coordinate compliance training sessions for employees and managers.
- Track legislative updates and communicate their impacts to leadership.
- Assist in preparing government filings and reports as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in California HR with a focus on compliance and auditing.
- In-depth knowledge of California state and federal employment laws.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Required regional travel up to 50% for store visits and meetings.
- Experience in union environments preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
