This is a senior Health, Safety & Environmental leadership role focused on shaping and driving safety excellence across multiple manufacturing operations in North America. You will be responsible for strengthening safety culture, ensuring full regulatory compliance, and continuously improving HSE performance in both office and industrial environments. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on operational involvement, including direct engagement with plant teams and leadership groups. You will influence safety behaviors, systems, and processes across a large, multi-site organization while supporting incident prevention and risk reduction. Acting as a key advisor to operations leadership, you will help embed proactive safety practices into day-to-day decision-making. This is a high-visibility position with significant impact on employee wellbeing, operational performance, and organizational standards.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead the implementation, execution, and continuous improvement of HSE programs across manufacturing operations in North America.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, provincial, and industry safety regulations and standards.
  • Drive incident prevention strategies, including investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and lost-time reduction initiatives.
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain HSE policies, training programs, and communication strategies to strengthen safety culture.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report HSE performance metrics, identifying trends and recommending improvements.
  • Manage relationships with regulatory agencies, external partners, insurers, and internal stakeholders on HSE matters.
  • Oversee HSE budgets, projects, and regional safety leaders while supporting operational execution of safety initiatives.
  • Coach and mentor HSE teams and plant personnel to elevate safety awareness and accountability.

Requirements:

  • 7–10 years of progressive HSE experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian and U.S. occupational health and safety regulations, including OSHA, CSA, ANSI, and related standards.
  • Proven track record of improving safety performance and delivering measurable HSE results.
  • Experience in incident investigation, compliance auditing, and risk mitigation processes.
  • Strong leadership and coaching abilities with experience managing or influencing teams.
  • Ability to develop KPIs, track performance, and drive accountability across multiple sites.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% across North America.
