Network Engagement Coordinator (Spanish) 

Type: One Year Contract

Reporting to the Head of Network Engagement, the Network Engagement Coordinator will:

  • Coordinate and implement projects in a highly collaborative way, working closely with team members, member organisations, consultants, allies and partners around information sharing, implementation of activities, evaluating and reporting on projects.
  • Actively engage IFEX members – including in response to emerging events in their contexts - to develop strong relationships and gather insights on member needs (in English and Spanish).  Use this built knowledge to engage Secretariat colleagues and inform responses. 
  • Coordinate and execute in-person and online events (including any combination of conception, work planning, agenda-building, facilitation, coordination, reporting and follow up).
  • Engage IFEX members to support regional coordination efforts.
  • Identify and facilitate member exchange, collaboration, and learning opportunities.
  • Contribute to monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) processes
  • Contribute to and champion IFEX approaches and culture.
  • Performs other duties, as required.



To do this work you will need:

  • Basic knowledge of human rights, freedom of expression and democratic development issues  
  • Advanced communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interface with various stakeholders both within and beyond the organization. Fluency in English and Spanish is required 
  • Working knowledge of events management and project management   
  • Good organizational and administrative skills, strong attention to detail  
  • Basic knowledge of campaigning techniques is an asset  





What you bring to the role:

  • 1+ years’ experience working in NGOs, networks and/or coalitions
  • University degree in related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Basic knowledge of a range of applications and software; experience managing databases and email management systems an asset
  • Basic knowledge of financial management, including reporting and budgeting an asset
  • Basic knowledge coordinating membership-based or coalition activities an asset

Location: The IFEX Secretariat is a distributed team, and all staff work remotely. This position is a remote role. All staff are required to be available online between the hours of 10am and 3pm EST. Some travel may be required.

 

Payment, terms and conditions: This is a one-year full-time contract position with a salary of $61,504 CAD. The start date for this role will be in Q1 2026
