We are searching for the best talent for a Regional Business Manager to join our J&J Surgical Vision team.  This position is remote based in Canada with the ideal candidate residing in Vancouver or Calgary.  The territory is Western Canada. 

Purpose:

The Regional Business Manager (RBM) has full responsibility for delivering and executing the regional business strategy and tactics, developing strong business relationships with partners, people development and building a balanced talent pipeline.  The RBM is responsible for the Surgical Vision business within the assigned territory and will collaborate closely with other functional partners to achieve aligned goals.

You will be responsible for:

  • Recruiting, leading, coaching, developing and managing high calibre Sales executives. Review and manage portfolio relative to market demand and allocate resources according to greatest opportunities for growth.
  • Deliver on both top line and regional profitability targets as established in the business plan.
  • Define and execute long-term business growth strategy that drives increased sales, market share, and/or market growth opportunities.
  • Gain market insights through interaction with customers, consumers, payors, regulators and industry experts; develop a deep understanding of problems, needs, and translate into possible solutions.
  • Apply financial and commercial acumen to analyse and report sales results against forecast to senior management and make any adjustments to business plans to ensure objectives are met.
  • Utilize strong negotiation skills to establish, maintain and grow partnerships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams, health care compliance and Business Development to develop and execute strategic plans for Vision including but not limited to pricing decisions.
  • Actively participates on the Vision Surgical Canada Leadership Team and leads team meetings, and year end activities.
  • Monitor business progress, identify key learnings and initiate indicated actions as necessary.
     

Qualifications:

  • University Degree is required.  MBA is an asset.
  • Minimum of 6 years experience in a direct commercial environment is required.  
  • Minimum of 3 years Medical Device/Healthcare experience is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years previous OR/Surgical Device sales and/or marketing experience is required.
  • Knowledge of capital and consumable selling cycles preferred.
  • People management leadership experience is strongly preferred.
  • Ophthalmology sales experience is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated digital acumen to identify and capitalize on emerging digital trends and opportunities in the marketplace.
  • Strong computer skills – Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • 50%+ business travel.  Weekly travel within the region, travel to the head office, US meetings.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
     

The expected base pay range for this position is $110,000 to $189,750 CAD.
