This role offers the opportunity to design and build a modern, unified data platform from the ground up within a fast-growing fintech environment. You will be responsible for shaping the architecture that powers reliable, scalable, and well-governed data across the organization. The position blends platform engineering and data engineering, with a strong emphasis on automation, observability, and system design. You will collaborate closely with product engineering, analytics, compliance, and security teams to ensure data flows efficiently and securely across systems. Accountabilities
In this role, you will take ownership of building and evolving a scalable enterprise data platform that connects multiple systems into a cohesive architecture. You will design reliable data pipelines, define standards, and ensure consistent data movement across the organization.
- Design and build a unified, scalable data platform that integrates existing tools and systems
- Own end-to-end data pipelines, ensuring reliability, performance, and clear SLAs
- Define and enforce data contracts to maintain consistency across upstream and downstream systems
- Develop platform tooling, automation, and infrastructure to improve engineering efficiency
- Implement observability, monitoring, and alerting to ensure platform health and transparency
- Collaborate with compliance, security, analytics, and product teams on governance and data usage
- Participate in on-call rotations to support production data systems and ensure stability
Requirements
This role requires strong experience in building scalable data platforms and working across modern data engineering ecosystems. You should be comfortable with both infrastructure and data pipeline development, and able to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
- Proven experience building and operating data platforms in fast-paced or early-stage environments
- Strong programming skills in Python, with experience in Java or Scala
- Deep understanding of relational databases, especially PostgreSQL
- Hands-on experience with data tools such as Airflow, Dagster, Airbyte, or dbt
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (especially AWS) and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Ansible
- Ability to design scalable data models and distributed system architectures
- Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, analytics, compliance, and security teams
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset
- Comfort working with AI-assisted development workflows and modern engineering tools
