This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Systems Administrator (Windows) based in Canada.

This hybrid role offers the opportunity to design, secure, and optimize the Windows infrastructure that supports a modern technology environment.
You will act as a key technical expert responsible for improving system reliability, automation, and operational efficiency.

Accountabilities:

The Systems Administrator (Windows) will be responsible for managing, securing, and evolving enterprise Windows environments. This role requires strong technical expertise, automation capabilities, and the ability to provide leadership in infrastructure improvement initiatives.

  • Maintain, optimize, and automate Windows infrastructure to improve reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
  • Respond to major incidents and restore services quickly while minimizing business impact.
  • Identify vulnerabilities and implement security patches, remediation actions, and infrastructure protection measures.
  • Participate in security audits and contribute to strengthening overall security posture.
  • Apply privileged access management best practices, including Just Enough Administration (JEA) and Just-In-Time (JIT) administration principles.
  • Design, maintain, and improve infrastructure deployment pipelines using DevOps practices.
  • Develop automation solutions through scripting, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and modern deployment methodologies.
  • Build, test, and deploy solutions that improve operational efficiency and reduce manual processes.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation to support knowledge sharing and operational consistency.
  • Train and mentor team members to improve technical capabilities and encourage collaboration.
  • Identify opportunities to modernize Windows environments and recommend innovative technology solutions.
  • Monitor emerging technologies and contribute to continuous improvement of infrastructure reliability and automation.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced Windows infrastructure professional with strong knowledge of enterprise systems administration, automation, and security practices. The role requires technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a bilingual environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Windows Server administration or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong expertise with Windows Server 2019, 2022, and 2025 environments.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps, including pipelines, CI/CD, and automation practices.
  • Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
  • Knowledge of Group Policy (GPO), Just Enough Administration (JEA), Just-In-Time (JIT) administration, and privileged access management practices.
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure security principles and best practices.
  • Experience with telecommunications and VMware environments is an asset.
  • Ability to work outside regular business hours when required for operational support.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in both French and English.
