Work Remotely Anywhere in the Province of New Brunswick

WorkSafeNB is seeking to fill a permanent position of Systems Coordinator. Reporting to the Director, Security, Architecture and Strategy, the Systems Coordinator role provides user account administration services, in addition to access control, backup management, and disaster recovery services. This includes providing regular and after-hours support to ensure corporate data integrity, creating, modifying and securing system access, creating, maintaining and initiating backup & recovery procedures, and performing production change control.
 

Salary and Hours of Work:

  • Hours of work are those required to perform the assigned tasks but shall not be less than 35 hours per week.
  • Pay Scale: $68,579.70 to $80,682.00 annually.

 

Responsibilities


  • Systems Access Control - The Systems Coordinator is responsible for creating and managing the user roles that define the security profile and access to systems and data that each role requires. This role ensures the day-to-day operations of account administration-related functions, including the timely and accurate processing of all additions, removals, and changes.
  • Backup Management & Disaster Recovery - The Systems Coordinator is responsible for the operations of backup-related functions, including the timely and accurate processing of all backup jobs, data restores, and media storage to ensure critical corporate data is intact and available for recovery in the event of a disaster.
  • Data Transfers - The Systems Coordinator is responsible for the accurate and successful processing of daily, weekly, and monthly data transfer jobs.
    Technical Support - Provide support to IT division, in addition to coverage for IT Help Desk Operator and Computer Operator roles as required.
  • Process Improvement - The Systems Coordinator assists with the optimization of departmental processes and systems by reviewing and analyzing activities within Support Services and recommending improvements to processes and procedures.

Qualifications


  • University degree in computer science, College diploma in Information Technology, or an equivalent combination of education, training, experience and certification.
  • A minimum of four (4) to five (5) years' experience administering and supporting Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, and Windows Server environments.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience with MS Entra and related Azure security tooling.
  • Working understanding of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001 CIS, etc.
  • Security certification such as Security+, CySA+ would be considered an asset.

WorkSafeNB

Organization

WorkSafeNB administers no-fault workplace accident and disability insurance for employers and their workers, funded solely through assessments on employers. All employers having three or more workers are obligated to obtain compensation coverage.

WorkSafeNB is committed to preventing workplace injuries and illness through education and enforcement of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

WorkSafeNB is administered by a board of directors consisting of the chairperson, a vice-chairperson, the president and CEO (non-voting member), the chairperson of the Appeals Tribunal (non-voting member), five members representing workers, and five members representing employers. Other than the president & CEO and the chairperson of the Appeals Tribunal, members of the board of directors serve part-time.

WorkSafeNB's mandate is to:

  • Promote the creation of a workplace safety culture in which all employees and employers view all occupational diseases and accidents as being preventable.
  • Promote an understanding, acceptance, and compliance with all legislation for which WorkSafeNB is responsible, including the enforcement of the OHS Act and regulations.
  • Provide timely compensation benefits, medical aid, rehabilitation, and safe return-to-work services to injured workers.
  • Provide sustainable insurance and insurance-related services to the employer community.
  • Represent stakeholders and provide recommendations and advice to government with respect to legislation, and publish such reports, studies, and recommendations WorkSafeNB considers advisable.

Assessments are affected by the level of activities in the province's workplaces, as are the resulting claims. There are also substantial assets that ensure WorkSafeNB will be able to provide the ongoing benefits promised to injured workers through a wage loss recovery insurance system. These funds are invested in the financial markets and investment returns are subject to the ups and downs of the marketplace.
