This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a U.S Business Immigration based in Canada.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced U.S. immigration attorney to provide strategic legal guidance to corporate clients in a fully remote environment. Working as an independent contractor, you will advise organizations and their employees on complex U.S. business immigration matters while ensuring compliance with evolving regulations. The role offers the chance to handle a broad range of nonimmigrant and immigrant visa matters, collaborate with sophisticated business clients, and deliver practical legal solutions. You will play a key role in shaping immigration strategies, reviewing legal filings, and supporting clients through critical immigration processes. This position is ideal for professionals who thrive in a client-focused, detail-oriented environment and enjoy working independently while managing complex legal matters.

Accountabilities:

  • Provide strategic legal advice on U.S. business immigration matters, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Review and validate immigration case strategies to align with client objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Review petitions, supporting documentation, and legal filings before submission to U.S. government authorities.
  • Lead legal consultations with corporate clients and foreign national employees, offering practical guidance throughout the immigration process.
  • Advise on a wide range of employment-based immigration matters, including nonimmigrant visas (such as H-1B, L-1, E, and TN classifications), immigrant visa categories, PERM labor certifications, naturalization, and related applications.
  • Identify legal risks and recommend effective, compliant immigration strategies tailored to each client's needs.
  • Maintain high standards of legal accuracy, professionalism, and client service while managing multiple matters simultaneously.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Active U.S. bar license in any U.S. state, along with authorization to practice U.S. law in the state or province of residence.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a practicing U.S. attorney.
  • At least 3 years of focused experience in U.S. business immigration law.
  • Advanced expertise in one or more areas of employment-based U.S. immigration.
  • Strong knowledge of immigration regulations, legal procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, legal drafting, communication, and client relationship management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, sound professional judgment, and the ability to manage complex legal matters independently.
  • Availability to commit approximately 20 hours per week under an independent contractor agreement.
