Wills & Estates Lawyer (Contract Position)
This Of Counsel role is designed for a knowledgeable Wills & Estates practitioner who wants to provide legal expertise without the demands of full-time practice. You will receive client referrals directly from our firm, handle matters independently under your own practice structure, and maintain a collaborative working relationship with our team.
The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5–10 years of Wills & Estates experience, demonstrates outstanding client care, and is confident working autonomously. Success in this role is measured by delivering high-quality service, maintaining strong communication, and supporting clients during important life planning decisions.
- Provide wills and estate planning services for referred clients, including drafting wills, power of attorney documents, and personal directives.
- Advise clients on estate structuring, probate planning, succession issues, and asset protection.
- Handle probate or estate administration matters as needed.
- Offer clear, compassionate legal guidance throughout the client experience.
- Maintain regular communication with the firm regarding referral status and client progress.
- Uphold strong professional and ethical standards in all client interactions.
- Work collaboratively with Ackah Law to ensure seamless service delivery and maintain client trust.
- Licensed Canadian lawyer in good standing with a minimum of 5–10 years of Wills & Estates experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in drafting wills, estate planning, and probate processes.
- Strong client service orientation and ability to translate legal concepts into clear, supportive guidance.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and advisory skills.
- Independent, organized, and able to manage files with minimal supervision.
- Able to maintain a remote or hybrid practice setup.
- Comfortable working as an independent contractor under an Of Counsel arrangement.
Compensation:
This is a referral-based Of Counsel contract role, with competitive fee-sharing arrangements for all work generated through Ackah Business Immigration Law. Compensation is directly tied to the services provided and offers strong earning potential depending on volume and complexity.
