Overview
Our client, an established Canadian SaaS company with global reach, is in need of an experienced Automation Developer to help drive efficiencies throughout their business operations. This Automation Developer will lead the company’s internal process automation efforts including Audit -> Recommendations -> Planning -> Delivery -> Next Steps. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of business workflows and a proven ability to design and deploy automation that improves efficiency and scalability. This fully remote contract is expected to go from 4-6 months initially, with opportunities to extend and/or convert to full time employment based on the identified project pathway.
Responsibilities
- Process Audit & Analysis
- Review and document existing workflows across business operations.
- Identify inefficiencies, redundancies, and opportunities for automation.
- Automation Strategy & Recommendation
- Evaluate and propose automation solutions using AI agents or established tools (e.g., UiPath, Zapier, Power Automate…).
- Develop a roadmap for phased automation implementation aligned with business goals.
- Execution & Deployment
- Design, build, and deploy automation workflows and scripts.
- Integrate automation solutions with existing platforms and internal systems.
- Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and optimization of automated processes.
- Collaboration & Documentation
- Work closely with operations, IT, and department leads to ensure smooth adoption.
- Maintain clear documentation of automation processes and provide training where necessary.
Qualifications
- Technical Skills
- Proficiency in automation tools (e.g., UiPath, Power Automate, Zapier, Make/Integromat…).
- Experience with AI-driven automation and conversational agents (Cursor, Copilot…).
- Strong knowledge of APIs, scripting languages (Python, JavaScript), and workflow integration.
- Business Acumen
- Understanding of integrated business operations and processes.
- Ability to translate business needs into technical automation solutions.
- Experience & Education
- 3+ years in automation development or process optimization roles.
- Prior experience in SaaS or technology-driven environments preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
