About nesto and Nesto Cloud

You will be working on Nesto Cloud, Canada’s most advanced cloud platform, delivering end-to-end technology solutions for lenders in the digital age.

About the team

We're a fast-paced, interdisciplinary team working on multiple tech projects simultaneously. Our team is diverse and works on different products and nesto experiences that are all interconnected.

This role requires a blend of strategic technical vision and hands-on, empathetic people leadership in a high-growth environment. You will own and accelerate our dedicated AI stream, driving the evolution of our AI orchestration product, while building and nurturing a high-performing engineering team.

You will be expected to move quickly, cut through ambiguity, and help nesto stay ahead in an industry that is changing every quarter.

What you’ll be doing

• Define, communicate, and rapidly execute the technical direction for nesto’s dedicated AI stream, making bold, data-informed decisions;
• Relentlessly drive the strategy and rapid development of our AI orchestration product, and the broader AI platform, from MVP to large-scale adoption;
• Manage, mentor, and grow a lean, high-impact group of engineering leads and individual contributors within the AI pods, setting a high bar for speed and quality;
• Collaborate closely with product and business leaders to rapidly align technical solutions with company goals and ship impactful outcomes;
• Foster a culture of technical excellence, aggressive experimentation, and rapid iteration within the engineering organization.

Who we’re looking for

This role is ideal for a builder who thrives in ambiguity, operates with urgency, and is energized by the pace and ownership of a startup/scale-up environment

• 5+ years of proven experience in engineering leadership, including leading people and other managers in high-growth startup or scale-up environments;
• Proven track record of rapidly building, launching, and scaling large-scale SaaS products in competitive markets;
• Deep expertise in applied AI and machine learning implementations at scale, with a history of shipping AI-powered features to production;
• Strong technical leadership with the ability to simplify complex architectural challenges and make high-stakes decisions quickly with incomplete information;
• Experience rapidly scaling teams and establishing pragmatic engineering best practices in a fast-paced, continuously changing environment.
