Role:
The role of the Construction Manager is to oversee project operations and ensure alignment with the project plan. Serving as the primary on-site contact, effective communication with field operations, Project Management, and the head office is essential for the Project's success. The Construction Manager bridges the field, Project Management, and corporate office, setting expectations and providing support across all departments, both on-site and at the site office.
Responsibilities:
General management of the projects and daily direction for workers
Strategically plan equipment and trades based on the demands of the projects
Coordinate with the head and site office to ensure the administrative needs of the projects are met
Coordinate and supervise all onsite construction activities and manage all changes as required
Preside over site meetings to keep the project moving forward &/or avoid project disruption
Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in the critical path to ensure effective management of time and scope of the project
Follow and enforce safety management plan and safe operating procedures
Follow and enforce the environmental protection plan
Coordinates sign off on all labour hours
Create and manage the scheduling of crews
Support Project Management on construction schedule inputs
Coordination of all required compliance with local jurisdictions for the project
Resolving scheduling or work interruptions for project
Training and mentoring of all employees on assigned project
Qualifications:
- 8 years of field experience in a similar role.
- Proven ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and be a team leader.
- Effective communication skills, confident interacting with key contacts in verbal, written and electronic form.
- Adaptable under pressure.
