Job Description:
The Project Scheduler is required to provide support in enhancing the scheduling capability and mentor current and future project and programme teams through the development and maintenance of project schedules. The Project Scheduler will act as the subject matter expert on project scheduling and Project Professional 2010 for the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO). The Scheduler provides expert advice, supports project and programme teams in the development of project and programme schedules and provides critical project and programme scheduling analysis for the EPMO.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and support project schedules;
- Create and modify project schedules, detailing each sequence of work that is to be done at a particular time;
- Conduct and provide critical path analysis;
- Develop and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), assist the project manager in the development of the WBS;
- Complete development of project schedules based on available project schedule information and capture it in MS Enterprise Project Server (or whatever the ESDC project software is at the time of the Task Authorization);
- Maintain a master schedule, including recording the effects of work being performed on time and not performed on time for each project relative to the master schedule;
- Produce appropriate reports and identify scheduling and/or dependency issues;
- Meet with Technical Authority to validate and obtain missing information required to complete Resource Loaded View (resource allocation and work analysis, resource load and identify risks such as gaps, conflicts, inter-dependencies not met);
- Develop and maintain integrated project schedules, documentation and resources as guided by the project manager and monitor the schedule’s impact on the master schedule;
- Provide input in developing work schedules, as part of estimating cost of projects, illustrating project timelines and milestones;
- Track the progress of the project including cost and schedule controls and evaluate progress of projects;
- Analyze existing project documents including schedules to identify gaps;
- When scheduling problems surface, help project managers in determining cause and finding solutions by providing options for resolving gaps and mitigating risks;
- Document issues and resolutions related to the project schedule and prepare regular updates;
- Provide planning advice and support to the PMO lead and project leads by coordinating and consulting with relevant project team members to ensure completion of proper planning before a project is started;
Must Have:
- Must have Enhanced Reliability clearance
- Must have 10 years of experience in the last 15 years as a project scheduler
- Must have 2 years of experience working as a project scheduler on one project within the government of private sector valued at $5Million or more
- Must have 10 years of experience scoping, developing and maintaining project schedules using Microsoft Project Professional and/or Microsoft Project Server
- Must have 10 years of experience monitoring and reporting project performance
