We are seeking a Senior SAS Developer for a remote contract role through February 2027 to support a large-scale data platform migration initiative. This is a hands-on, development-focused role centered on migrating and validating legacy SAS workloads as data sources are transitioned to AWS Redshift.
What you'll do
Responsibilities
- Remediate and migrate legacy SAS codebases
- Repoint SAS workloads from Oracle and Teradata to AWS Redshift
- Modify and optimize SAS and SQL code to support the new data platform
- Perform post-migration validation, reconciliation, and performance tuning
- Support aggressive delivery timelines while maintaining high quality standards
- Document migration outcomes, risks, and exceptions
What you'll need
Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience developing and maintaining legacy SAS code
- Advanced SQL skills across relational data platforms
- Experience repointing or migrating SAS workloads to new data sources
- Proven experience with data validation, reconciliation, and testing
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in a remote, delivery-driven environment
The following are considered assets:
- Experience supporting large-scale platform decommissioning initiatives
- Familiarity with scheduled SAS jobs and operational dependencies
- Experience with *ad hoc or data lab SAS workloads
- Knowledge of SAS/ACCESS engines and connectivity patterns
- Experience performing audit-style data validation
- Strong technical documentation skills
