We are seeking a Senior SAS Developer for a remote contract role through February 2027 to support a large-scale data platform migration initiative. This is a hands-on, development-focused role centered on migrating and validating legacy SAS workloads as data sources are transitioned to AWS Redshift.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

  • Remediate and migrate legacy SAS codebases
  • Repoint SAS workloads from Oracle and Teradata to AWS Redshift
  • Modify and optimize SAS and SQL code to support the new data platform
  • Perform post-migration validation, reconciliation, and performance tuning
  • Support aggressive delivery timelines while maintaining high quality standards
  • Document migration outcomes, risks, and exceptions

What you'll need

Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience developing and maintaining legacy SAS code
  • Advanced SQL skills across relational data platforms
  • Experience repointing or migrating SAS workloads to new data sources
  • Proven experience with data validation, reconciliation, and testing
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, delivery-driven environment

The following are considered assets:

  • Experience supporting large-scale platform decommissioning initiatives
  • Familiarity with scheduled SAS jobs and operational dependencies
  • Experience with *ad hoc or data lab SAS workloads
  • Knowledge of SAS/ACCESS engines and connectivity patterns
  • Experience performing audit-style data validation
  • Strong technical documentation skills
