The mission of the Senior Data Engineer at Cozey
We are looking for our skilled and resourceful Senior Data Engineer to join the rapidly expanding Cozey team. As a key member of our growing Canadian start-up, you will be responsible for setting up and owning our entire data stack from scratch. We seek a builder with outstanding problem-solving skills who is excited to contribute to our ambitious goals. What you'll be doing
- Implement and own the end-to-end data stack and process at Cozey.
- Collaborate with all departments to understand their data requirements and business needs.
- Set-up and manage ETL/ELT processes for data collection, transformation, and integration from various sources.
- Architect and manage our data warehouse to ensure it meets organizational needs.
- Establish and oversee our reporting and business intelligence systems to support data-driven decision-making.
We'd love to hear from you if you have
- 5+ years' experience in creating, building, and owning of a new data stack. This includes reporting needs and data ingestion to transformation and reporting.
- 5+ years’ experience in data modeling and data warehousing with platforms like AWS Redshift or Athena.
- Proficiency with ELT tools such as Fivetran, AWS Glue, and Apache Airflow.
- Proficiency with ETL tools—we use AWS Glue, Step Functions, funnel.io.
- Advanced skills in Python and SQL for data manipulation, analysis, and automation.
- Version control (Github, Gitlab) workflows and CI/CD.
- Infrastructre-as-Code (Terraform, CDK).
- Expertise in BI and visualization tools, such as Tableau.
- Understanding of data governance principles, data quality management, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Experience with AWS, including services like S3, and Redshift.
