Atmosphere Sound Floor Solutions Ltd (Sound Floors) is a growing gypsum underlayment installation company that has served British Columbia since 2017 as a division of Atmosphere Flooring Solutions (served BC since 2003). As a member of the Atmosphere team, you will be part of a group of dedicated people that provides exceptional services in all aspects of the flooring and gypsum underlay industry.


The Skid Steer operator position involves working with a small (4-6 person) team to deliver, setup, mix, pump, finish and repair floor topping throughout British Columbia.  This position includes the opportunity to work long hours and significant travel around the beautiful province of British Columbia.  Atmosphere guarantees the successful applicant the opportunity to be home every Sunday and most Saturdays (+/- 5 Saturdays per year may be required).

The following abilities/skills are considered to be assets (but not mandatory) among candidates:

  • Valid forklift/skid steer/zoom boom certification with experience
  • Class 1 Drivers License, or Trailer Endorsement an asset but not essential
  • Past flooring and /or construction experience
  • First Aid Training
  • Construction and concrete installation experience


Responsibilities may include but not be limited to:


Responsibilities

    • Fully trained in the operations and capability of a skid steer
    • Assist in pumping and placing of gypsum underlayment with daily operations and project requirements. 
    • Assist daily set-up, cleanliness of work area and daily clean-up
    • May require considerable physical activity, must be capable of lifting, bending, twisting
    • Assist with a variety of job operations out with skid steer operator responsibility 

    • Ensure the safety of company personnel, the community and environment

    • Responsible for completing daily equipment checklist
    • Monitoring and ensuring accurate load weights

    • Seek out and implement Best Practices

Maintenance

    • Operate and perform routine maintenance on skid steer loader including, washing and cleaning the operators cab inside & out, greasing, fueling, etc
    • Responsible for updating and maintaining all equipment service records for any piece of equipment operated, the hours on the unit, date, time, etc

Qualifications

    • Valid class 5 Driver License
    • Experience with skid steer operation, certification preferred but not essential

 

In addition to the above, the successful candidate will be expected to exercise sound judgement, work safely and communicate effectively in a team. This position is physically demanding and requires crouching, bending, lifting and kneeling.
