Description

Performs the accounting activities associated with the production of financial information and statement for the assigned area of responsibility within the Sales & Marketing operation.  Provides accounting and financial support to operational and business partners.



Responsibilities
  • Performs the full cycle of accounting activities related to the production of financial statements; including creating and posting journal entries, analyzing financial results, and writing financial narratives. Ensures that all deadlines are met and all deliverables are completed with a high quality product.

  • Partners with operational departments to ensure contracts are processed effectively, for appropriate revenue recognition.

  • Prepares balance sheet account reconciliations related to assigned area of responsibility.  Ensures all schedules are completed timely and efficiently.  Verifies that all reconciling items are researched and resolved promptly.

  • Prepares and reviews all statutory tax filings and payments to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

  • Has experience with multi-entities, multi-currencies, intercompany transactions, foreign exchange and translation.

  • Works effectively with team members within Accounting and across departments to effect changes and complete special projects required as part of company-wide goals and objectives.

  • Identifies opportunities for improvement by reviewing current processes for automation, consolidation or reengineering.

  • Completes all required Company training/compliance courses as assigned.

Compensation:  $34.00 - $36.00 CAD per hour.



Qualifications
  •  Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Ability to interpret and create policies, procedures and manuals.

  • Proficient in time management; the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.

  • Ability to take initiative and effectively adapt to changes.

  • Able to establish and maintain a cooperative working relation.

  • Ability to interpret and create spreadsheets.

  • Able to use sound judgment; work independently, with minimal supervision. 

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Able to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature, with impending deadlines and/or established timeframes.

  • Advanced math skills.
