Job Description

  • As a System Administrator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our IT infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our systems. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

  • Liaises effectively with third-party partners, vendors, and external clients.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support large environments of Windows & Linux servers and technologies: troubleshooting, proactive management, security management, backups, daily operation and optimization.

  • Support cloud workloads in IBM Cloud, including resource provisioning and cost monitoring.

  • Test and monitor network and server performance and provide performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining network infrastructure.

  • Assist in vulnerability assessments, patch cycles, and remediation efforts in line with company security policy.

  • Responsible for resolving all infrastructure break/fix issues and enhancements in a timely manner.

  • Liaise with third-party partners/vendors for prompt rectification of any problems or emergencies.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date system documentation.

  • Responsible for software licensing compliance

  • Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to infrastructure emergencies outside of regular business hours.

Qualifications

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science

  • 5+ years hands-on technical experience in troubleshooting network and hardware issues

  • Application support experience with MS Windows / Linux server and desktop environments

  • Virtualization Server setup and administration

  • Willing to work in on-call shifts

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations

  • Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language

  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Strong customer service orientation. 

  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

 

Certifications:

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Linux, Cisco, Fortinet, CompTIA and Cloud certifications) are an asset.
