Position Title: Territory Manager – Ontario
Location: Ontario (field-based)
Travel: ~60% local, ~30% regional
Compensation: Base salary + commission tied strictly to Ontario revenue growth
Position Summary
The Territory Manager – Ontario leads, supports, and develops the Ontario sales team to drive revenue growth and expand market penetration. This position supervises four Territory Managers, provides weekly coaching, and supports growth efforts across key customer segments and delivery zones. The role includes direct involvement with strategic accounts and efforts to enhance customer loyalty through manufacturer program adoption and product education.
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership & Development
Directly supervise four Territory Managers.
Conduct weekly one-on-one meetings to review performance and territory activity.
Provide coaching on sales execution, product knowledge, and competitive positioning.
Support onboarding and ongoing development of new team members.
2. Revenue Growth & Market Expansion
Drive Ontario revenue growth, focusing on increasing market penetration and customer density in priority delivery areas.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the province.
Redirect team efforts based on performance trends and regional opportunities.
3. Strategic Account Support
Support strategic accounts by assisting with relationship management and key growth initiatives.
Coordinate with the assigned Territory Manager on day-to-day account needs and service.
4. Customer Engagement & Program Utilization
Strengthen customer loyalty by promoting manufacturer programs and incentives.
Deliver product education, training, and merchandising guidance to customers.
Reinforce Canada Tire’s value proposition and service offering across the region.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Operations, Customer Service, and Logistics to ensure consistent service delivery.
Communicate regional issues, competitive trends, and opportunities to internal teams.
6. Reporting & Territory Oversight
Provide regular updates to the Director of Sales on team performance and regional activity.
Ensure team adherence to company processes and effective use of internal systems.
Support decisions related to staffing, performance, and Territory Manager development.
Qualifications
5–7 years of B2B sales experience; tire or automotive experience preferred.
Leadership or mentoring experience in a sales environment.
Strong communication and coaching skills.
Demonstrated success growing revenue and developing new business.
Ability to travel regularly.
Proficiency with CRM/ERP tools (Netsuite an asset).
English required.
